Vinegar eels are microscopic nematodes perfect for the first week of betta fry life.

Supplies Needed:

Apple cider vinegar (unfiltered)

Filtered water

Starter culture

Sliced apple

Tall jar

Filter floss or cotton balls


Steps:

1. Fill jar: 50% vinegar, 50% water


2. Add apple slice and vinegar eel culture


3. Cover with breathable cloth or cotton ball


4. Store at room temp


5. Wait 7–10 days before first harvest

 

Harvesting:

Use pipette to pull from surface layer

Optional: use a test tube with clean water above eel solution — they swim up
